My Cedar Point season started with a trip down on May 16th, the Monday after the park opened. It wasn't quite the trip I hoped it to be, but I still had fun. Alright, time to jump into what you came here for. Weather was bad, so pictures were sparingly taken.

We arrived right around 10am, but had to go get our passes processed so we ended up entering the park around 10:15. As usual we headed over to Dragster, but unfortunately we noticed a trend on the way back; barely anything was open. And of course, Dragster was closed. Magnum too. But we noticed a Mantis train running, so we headed over there. To my disdain it was only running one train, so what looked like a 10 min wait turned out to be around 25.

Ride 1: Mantis - The ride was running quite well. The trims on the drop were off, or at least turned down low enough to not feel them. I personally love Mantis for its forces, but my consensus is not held by everyone unfortunately.

After Mantis we went to Millennium Force...closed. So we hopped on the train and headed to Maverick. Thankfully it was open. After about 40 minutes we were on.

Ride 2: Maverick - Amazing as always. The drop in the back row is so fun.

The line was really short when we got off so we hopped right back in line and waited a short time for another back row ride.

Ride 3: Maverick - Just as good as the first time around.

I noticed a ton of fresh wood on Mean Streak so we headed back there next. I made a dumb move and headed for the back of the train. I paid for it since the un-retracked portions are not friendly.

Ride 4: Mean Streak - Lots of retracking done. Shockingly the drop trims were totally off. The retracked portions rode really well, but the old sections jack hammered hard.

We headed over to Chick Fil A only to find a huge line and outrageous prices. We decided we'd rather have Panda Express, so we headed over to SkyHawk...closed. We were getting frustrated at this point, so we rode Cedar Creek Mine Ride just for something to do.

Ride 5: CCMR - My legs are way too long for this ride, so it was quite uncomfortable. Running one train only made it worse since we actually had to wait.

Next we got Panda Express! Yay! We decided to head to the front, but not before grabbing a ride on Iron Dragon and Power Tower.

Ride 6: Iron Dragon - A fun little change of pace. Not too thrilling, but its still fun enough.

Ride 7: Power Tower - Teal/Green/Power Drop Side: The scariest ride in the park to me. Being so high up with barely anything around you freaks me out.

We walked to the front, grabbed some WindSeeker shots, and rode Wicked Twister. I'd never done the front, so we waited a few extra trains for that.

Ride 8: Wicked Twister: Rode up front, but I still prefer the back. Still fun though.

We debated Disaster Transport next, but the queue was full and from experience that means roughly a 30min wait. We didn't want to wait that long for DT, so we headed over to Blue Streak. Once we got there, we decided it was time for a marathon challenge. We ran from exit to entrance as many times as possible in one hour. Unfortunately the ride went down for 5 minutes during our challenge, so we only got 8 rides in. One time we even managed to get off, run to the entrance, and get back on the same train before it dispatched.

Ride 9-17: Blue Streak: I love this little gem. Riding in the back is so fun because it just throws you around, but not enough for it to be painful.

We had done just about every open coaster at that point, so we just messed around with the little sport cars. After that we did the antique cars. I guess I'll count those as ride 18 and 19.

We saw a train crest Dragster, so we took off running that way. To our chagrin the line was already up to an hour and a half. At that point we saw Millennium Force test so we went in that direction. And of course, it was closed when we got there. Dragster closed back down before we could get back in line, so we just headed on back to Frontier Town. Fortunately SkyHawk was open now.

Ride 20 & 21: SkyHawk - My favorite flat by far. I love the airtime you get on this thing. I may be wrong, but it felt like the cycle may have been longer than in the past.

Maverick was right there, so we hopped in line for that since it was only 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the ride went down for a considerable time as they randomly transferred two trains on, then transferred one of them right back off. Also, the wait for the front added some time.

Ride 22: Maverick - Front row for the first time ever. The sensation of speed was cool, but the wild ride in the back is just too much to give up.

When we got off the line was up in the station, so we got back on in random rows. The line was still short after that ride so we rode again.

Ride 23 & 24 :Maverick - Fun as always. Having virtually no wait made it even better.

After that one it was closing time, so we headed back out to the car and drove off into the sunset. At first I was disappointed by the trip, but after some thought I realized that I still had a really good time. Rain was sprinkling all day and it was quite windy, so that is why the rides were down according to several ride ops that I talked to. I got to do things I never usually would on a trip to Cedar Point and I'm sure that I'll get to catch up on all the rides I missed several times this summer.

Ride counts for the day:

Blue Streak - 8
Maverick - 5
SkyHawk - 2
Mean Streak - 1
Iron Dragon - 1
Wicked Twister - 1
Power Tower - 1
CCMR - 1
Mantis - 1
Antique Cars - 1
Turnpike Cars - 1

I usually post pictures with the description of the rides, but due to the random riding pattern and mostly photographing closed rides I'll just throw them here. Hurray for a new 14 mp camera!
