Free Fall Tower Ride Construction Log: 1

December 26, 2003 - CoasterBGW

For Christmas I got my second Faller Model. After seeing how nice the Wild Mouse was I decided to but a Free Fall Tower to put next to it on my train platform. In this Construction Log I will have many pictures and explanations for any of you that are going to but this model. I plan on doing updates when ever I see a need for them, it will most likely be after a part were you can see some progress or a tricky part that needs pictures for clarification. For buying the Faller models I recommend going to one of three places:- Walthers.com- Ebay- Local Hobby ShopIf you are looking for a cheap price then I would do with Ebay, but since I have stayed away from Ebay the best place to buy it is your local hobby shop. At mine I am able to get the models for about 20% less than what Walthers does. Walthers is the American Distrubuter for Faller. If you can't find it anywere else then I would resort back to Walthers.I have seen this question asked many times: "How do I power the ride?" The answer is a transformer. It can be any kind that has a 12-16 DC output on it. I uselly use my HO train transformer, you can pick a cheap one up for $15-20.When I first open the box I usually lay all the parts out on the table, this gives me and overview of all the parts and if some parts have fallen off then I tap those picnics back in their place. To build one of these models easily you need quite a bit of room to spread out all the pieces. I am lucky enough to have a work bench and a clean table next to it to do all this stuff.1.JPGThis is a pictures of how I layout all the stuff2.JPGHad to tape some things back on3.JPGThe control box4.JPGSome of the small parts I put in a bag
