Code of Conduct
For All Members (Including Site Leadership):
Vision/Mission Statement:
I am a member of the COASTER-net Community for the purpose of belonging to a united, peaceful, laid-back community centered around the discussion of thrill rides and parks. I agree to generally maintain a good sense of humor to the best of my ability, realizing my own faults before those of other members. I also agree to try putting the interests of other members above my own in all situations.
I will do my part to stay informed on the rules and guidelines that help maintain order, and to openly discuss ways to further the Community. If I fail to understand any part of the Code of Conduct, I will ask for clarification by sending a Personal Message to any Forum Admin.
I understand that certain content may not be available to general members on the site and that revealing information from those protected forums to those who do not have access to it without prior permission is prohibited. I also understand promise to not represent material which is not my own as belonging to me, and understand that any content (posts, pictures, videos, and files) posted to the forums is the property of COASTER-net and may be used by COASTER-net as it sees fit.
I understand that I will not be able to participate in forum discussions until I have validated my account and introduced myself in the Roll Call topic in the Community Center.
"10 Commandments" of COASTER-net (Applies to All Sections of the Site)
Conflict Resolution:
If another member personally offends me, I will resolve the problem in private, never letting it affect the public site. If it goes unsolved, I realize that I can contact any respected member of the Site Leadership to assist.
Appeals:
If I have a problem with site policies or action taken against myself or anyone else, I will respectfully post it on the Community Issues & Appeals Court board for review by Site Leadership. Insubordination and insurrection my result in additional consequences.
Weekly Chat:
All of the public-forum rules above and their consequences below apply to the weekly Chat sessions as well as the forums.
Consequences:
Unless otherwise stated, all violations of these rules will result in a 10% increase in my warning level with a warning period of 30 days, and that repeat offenses within the warning period will result in a 20% increase. The following consequences are in addition to the warning level increase.
20%: 1-week suspension
40%: 2-week (14-day) suspension
60%: 1-month (30-day) suspension
over 60%: 1-year suspension with possible additional consequences
