Hi guys just wondering if anybody likes this genre round here, or has even heard of it. Surely there must be somebody hah!! So if you wanna talk anything related to the genre, or what you think of it, or even if you wanna guess what the heck I'm talking about, then give us a post :P

There aren't many genres that actively annoy me... but dubstep is one of them. For some reason I just really don't like it... but each to their own I suppose.

Fairdo's, doesn't really seem like many people like electronic music round here, seems mostly metal and rock, not in a bad way or anything cos I like to listen to metal aswell.

I very much perfer hardstyle music as opposed to calmer stuff, so maybe my opinion is a tad flawed anyway.

Oh don't get me wrong, some of Dubstep is calm, deep and minimal, but there is many different styles within the genre. There are some tunes out there that are probably comparable to the impact that Hardstyle has on the listener. Tunes like Coki - Spongebob, Borgore - One Step Ahead and Babysham - Black Widow Spider are definitely some of the harder, more aggressive tunes out there that the genre has to offer. Check them out if you want.

It's a subgenre of electronic music that has lots of bass basically. Kinda hard to describe, listening to it is the best explanation.

Yeah like Kumba said, use youtube to find out, type Beginner's Guide To Dubstep in if you want.

I'm going to admit that I was wrong with my opinion 2 years ago, and I've actually taken quite an interest into (some) dubstep as of late. I wouldn't call myself a massive fan, but I do quite like some of the more chilled stuff.

Mt. Eden is one of my favourites, and probably the artist that got me listening more seriously.

Another act that has become quite big in the UK is Chase & Status. I don't know if any of their stuff has been played out in the States, but they're probably one of the most popular mainstream dubstep-esque acts here at the moment.

I strongly recommend their latest album 'No More Idols'; absolutely brilliant!

Anyway, I like some dubstep, as some dubstep remixes are fantastic. I like most energetic electronica though. :P

I outgrew my fascination for hardstyle music. I haven't very much developed a taste for dubstep except Pendulum, which is technically classified as drum n base (I think because it's a little bit faster?). That's literally the only band I listen to like that, that I really enjoy (except for Daft Punk I guess..which is only related by being electronic) (=.

And because they have stuff like this. 2:40ish on is really great (=

And this >.<..I like this band too much.

I just got interested in this genre a few weeks ago, and I'm really impressed with it!
These two are my favorites.

I definitely reccomend GlitchMob. They're the best. :P

I was on stumble upon and I stumbled upon a page of dubstep that people were sharing. I actually think it's alright. I'm not that huge of a fan of the pop stuff that's on the radio or techno because it tends to be very repetitive and uninteresting. On the other hand, dubstep can have changing themes, sudden tempo or time signature shifts, randomly occurring events, and complex drum beats. I'm downloading some VST plugins and I want to see how easy it is to make dubstep.

Edit: These synths are awesome. There's thousands of patches and the cool effects are built in.
