Recently I have gotten several PM's for help for various things. To make all this information available to everyone, (and to keep me from having to answer a question more than once) I made this thread. If there is something that you don't know how to do, you can't find, you don't know how to install, or you don't know how to make, post it HERE
and I will try my best to help you in any way that I can.

*Knock knock knock* "Help Desk? There you are!"

Anyway, any good ideas for getting a video into a post without joining a website?

After a quick Google search:
http://www.yourfilelink.com/
If you have a Photobucket then they apparently do videos as well.
Myspace, Facebook and several other sites also have sections that host videos.
Youtube really is worth the 2 minutes it takes to join. It's free and everyone uses it.

Edit: Here is a list of sites who host videos. http://www.squidoo.com/videohosting If you are a member of any of them then you can use that one. Any site should work for the video (multimedia) insert on the forum.

Wow... Someone finally did this. How about let's just make it the "Help Thread" instead of "Help Desk". Help Thread means anyone can help anyone, while Help Desk suggests a lone receptionist that gets frazzled and later flames out at everyone. I'm not saying you will, but I would say that it gives more people a chance to contribute.

NL 3ds expert right here by the way... :)

Let this be a help desk/thread, where frazzled people can ask for help in technical problems. Post (or go) here for inspiration and tips.

My my, look at your ego, X-Car. But then again, I need to examine my own, too. Sticky both threads, then.

By the way, are there any good sites for free sound effects? I'm looking specifically for high-speed rail sounds (including rail squeal, exterior pass and interior ambiance), as well as simple rain and thunder.

One little question: what color scheme would one suggest when one hears the name "Wings Trinity"? I don't want to use purple (I already did for Immortal) and I don't want to use greyscale or anything resembling Tatsu either.

I'm thinking something bird like. Maybe brown, tan, orange or something.

Hi, can you create wooden catwalks without using the support generator? If so, how? I want to use them for general theming. Thanks

I don't think you can. I think you just need to generate the wooden supports on a small section so you only get the number of catwalks you need instead of the whole thing. You won't be able to click "delete all auto supports" because the catwalks will go as well. So, you will have to delete the other supports by hand. I know it's annoying but it the only way to do it.

Most tools should be there. However, unfortunately, you can not register it as Gravimetric Studios is permanently down.

Before you even post here with the problem, I'll give you the solution.

You will get the error message "MSVBM50.ddl" is missing.
Click HERE and place the file inside the same folder that contains the Object Creator program.
Like magic, the Object Creator program will suddenly work!.....for a split second, you might feel as if Vista didn't suck so much...but it still does.Posted Image

When I try to use shyguys waterworx in rct3, there is a green blob for the texture. Same thing happens with instant wood if I zoom out too far.

^^ THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I got the Object Creator working fine, and even have some objects completed for a few of my projects. My problem is this: I gave the objects a texture, but it won't come up in the NoLimits Simulator. I have the objects in the simulator, but they are completely gray. Am I doing something wrong?

^Yes that's it. Within the .3ds file, each texture is referenced by file name. This means that you will need to copy and paste the texture from the OC folder and into your Program Files/No Limits Rollercoasters/Objects folder. It doesn't matter which sub folder within the Objects folder you use (if any), just make sure that the .3ds file and all textures that are being used by it are in the same place. Also, once you put a .3ds file into your NL coaster, don't move the .3ds file to a different folder; It then makes an invalid reference because the .3ds file that NL once looked to for the 3d object information is now moved somewhere else, and as far as No Limits is concerned, it's gone.

Okay, I'll ask again...

Why is the texture of ShyGuy's WaterWorx's objects a green blob?

Is there a way to run the coaster simulator without connecting the track? If so, how do you do it?
