You have to change the coaster settings to shuttle.

Okay, I'll ask again...

Why is the texture of ShyGuy's WaterWorx's objects a green blob?

Clarify please. Are you saying that in-game, the textures are "green" or you see files with green blobs in the folder? If it's the first one, ask ShyGuy. If it's the second one, you STILL go ask ShyGuy. :D It's his creation, so you might as well be a help and give feedback on a possible bug.

Or...

You can try downloading from another website and reinstalling them.

Hi, this is a shout out to the RCT3ers from me as I need help finding a few things.

1.There are a few CTR's I want but can't seem to find them either because I don't know what to search for or the downloads get me a nice error 404.

Here's my wishlist:

Diamondback/Behemoth/Intimidator cars
B&M CTRs (floorless and others that I now see exist, I'm pretty certain I've seen CTR's for the sitdown and stand up cars)
I think I saw a CTR that has the track of the looping coaster and LIM coaster but with diagonal curved hills that you can bank
Wingrider CTR
Vekoma MK1200 cars (similar to the trains on Goudurix)
Arrow Mine Train
if they exit, the Premier trains that used to be on SOB
PTC wooden coaster CTR

2. I'm also having trouble using billboards in RCT3. I think it may be from using Windows Vista, but is there a way around it?

3. How do I go about 'merging' track in RCT3 with Vista (like the zero clearance and stuff like that which I would do with the options.txt thing, but something won't let me)?

Thanks for the help! Mike, if you can't find something you need, perhaps CSF can make something for you. It wouldn't hurt to ask.

Hey Mike, I know that Gadget made a CTR for 2 bench PTC's. You can find them on his website, but you will need WinRAR.

Beastie,

Billboards in RCT3 have problems for 7 and Vista due to different folder compositions. This has something to do with the default "My Pictures" not being located within "My Documents". (It's separate.) In order to get billboards, you must "merge" the folders together. (Command Prompt).

This video is self-explanatory, but keep in mind that it doesn't work for everyone. (It worked for me)

Can you be a bit more specific on your Options.txt part? There are actually TWO .txt files that "mod" the game. One is located in the RCT3 root folder and that doesn't do much. The other .txt is located somewhere in the C drive in application data. For Windows 7, the directory is:

C:\Users>(User)>AppData>Roaming>Atari>RCT3

I'm not sure about Vista, although in theory it should be the same.

Hope that helps. ;)

Check out some of our Tutorials in our Editorials and Blogs sections. Just search for "Newton" or "Newton 2" and you're sure to find them. Several different tutorials have been written by several different members as well as a good editorial called "Hand-Built vs. Tool-Built."

The main thing with Newton is that you have to know what a realistic force is for each segment before you continue. I have covered most of these topics in my Newton 2 Tutorial blog series. I suggest checking those out.

NL_N2_fail.jpg

Perhaps I need to make a Newton 2 tutorial series. I know how to fix those problems.

Edit: Perhaps I should make my post more helpful.

The hill in the foreground:
I assume what you are saying about it is that it is too "pointed" at the top or that it isn't drawn out enough. This is because the segment that you were applying positive G's on lasts too long....In other words, you're hill ascends too steeply. Another reason for the point could be that you wait too long to start applying 0G's and/or you are applying negative G's. It is likely a combination of the three that create the point. I think it would smooth it out a great deal if you reduced the duration of the force segments that correspond to the bottom of the hill and lengthen the ones that transition from positive to zero G's/negative G's....of course do the same for the back side of the hill as well.

For the lift hill peak:
Am I correct in thinking that you are using the straight geometry for the lift hill itself? It looks like you aren't using the curved geometry for the peak of the lift hill. You should set the direction to -90 degrees. (So you will be going down.) Then change the Angle slider appropriately. If you want to level out your train, make the "Angle" value the opposite of the "Pitch" value which is given below the Save Element button. If the curve is too sharp...like in your picture, increase the radius of the curve.

The first drop:
This one is quite tricky. For now I would say start the twist a little earlier. Moving around and starting and stopping the Twist/Roll and the Vertical G segments independent of each other is possible with the multi-zone force segments. It makes things more fluid if you know how to use it.

Are you talking about RCT3 billboards or some Windows 7 feature? I don't have Windows 7.

RCT3 billboards working on Windows 7. They don't. I want them to work without the aid of a command prompt.

^You WILL need CMD to get billboards. It has to do with the issue of My Pictures no longer being within "My Documents". You need CMD to change that.

Just getting back into NL, and I'm having an issue with the Track Packager. When I try to open a package, and I hit install, it gives me this error message.

Run-time error '53':

I recently tried to download the No Limits 1.8 patch, and when I did, it somehow re-installed it, and when I put in the key code, it didn't work. I then re-installed 1.6 and 1.7 perfectly (with all my saved track files) and tried 1.8 again, and the process started again.

Hmm, that is odd. I'd email Ole at nolimits@nolimitscoaster.com and explain your situation. They're usually wonderful about customer service. After I had my hard drive get fried on my old computer they sent me a brand new install and product key, which I've saved for future reference.

Speaking of good customer service, is there any possible way to get another copy of NL if you lost the installation files and code? My comp and my backup USB failed simultaneously and I lost the NL installer and code: I only remember the email address used.

I'd have to imagine that you can most likely get a new code/install if you email them and explain your situation.

Not sure if anyone will be able to answer this, but it hasn't been answered anywhere else on the 'net in a way that helps me. I have RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum for my Mac, which runs Snow Leopard. This problem I'm having is just confusing me. Any 3D trees I try to place appear invisible, but the shadows are there and I can still delete them. I looked into the data files and all of the files for the 3D trees exist, but for some reason, the game isn't using them correctly. I've adjusted my LOD options, which does nothing.

This isn't a tech support forum, I know that, but maybe I can at least get some guesses about what's going on.
