It's time for the Summer Coaster Draft!!!!

Sign ups start right now and go to Friday, June 11th at noon.

Play will begin Saturday, June 12th, at noon.

There is NO LIMIT to the number of people who can participate in the draft.

SIGN UP NOW!!!

Game-play:

• The order of play will be randomly generated
• There are 10 rounds
• In each round each player will pick a coaster to be part of an imaginary park.
• The goal is not to pick all the best coasters, or fastest and tallest, it is to have the best well rounded park; kiddie coasters are important too.
• At the end of the 10 rounds, each player must give a write up on their park and will be given one week to do so.
• The entire COASTER-net community will vote on the best park and the winner's park will be featured in a blog written by CoasterCrazy..
• When you make a pick, you must post the name of the next person and the time that they must pick by. (EVERYONE USES Eastern Standard Time!!!!!)
• When you post your pick, you must include a youtube POV. (Embedded in the post, not a link.) You also must include a RCDB link.

Rules:

• The coasters picked must be operating rides or SBNO rides that have operated in the last five years.
• You can't pick a coaster someone else has already picked, though you can pick a clone of a ride that has already been picked.
• You can't pick a clone of a coaster that you've already chosen....that would be kinda stupid, but I'm saying it anyway
• You can't pick more than 3 coasters from any one park.
• You may pick coasters that are currently being relocated, being rebuilt at a new home, or confirmed to be built at a new home.
• If relocated coaster has operated at its new home, you should try to post a POV of the coaster at its new home. If no such POV is available, just post a POV of the atoms that make up the ride...I don't care where they're located.
• If you miss 2 turns, you're disqualified.
• When you make a pick, you must post the next person and the time that they have to make their pick. (ex. If I make my pick at 1:37pm EST on a Wednesday and the person after me is HCL, I will post, "HCL has until 1:37pm EST on Thursday."
• Again, EVERYONE MUST POST IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME. That's 1 hour ahead of central, 2 ahead of mountain, and 3 ahead of pacific.
• Please try to avoid posting a POV of someone's face while they scream...I would prefer a pov of the ride.

I just mean that everyone needs to post in EST time because someone in California may think they are an hour early when they are actually 2 hours late. So, if it's specified, there shouldn't be any confusion.....although you could just look at the post time-stamp.

Fine, I'll remove it. It was just one that I had taken from a previous draft. I don't know why you would want to pick clones of rides you already have picked, but go ahead.

You can overturn that if you get 4 people to say that they want it changed. I'll probably go with a rotation of thirds if I end up rotating it. But first, read my point of view...

The thing that doesn't sound fair to me is the first and last people in the order picking twice in a row every other round.

I'm confused. X-Car, the above format is what we have always used. It works and is fair. Making the order completely different every round just makes things too complicated and confusing (and can turn out un-fair). If you are first or last and you go twice in a row every other round, it evens out because you haven't gone in a while.

Anyway, I'll be gone for a week and a half right in the middle of this, but I can never miss out on a coaster draft. Count me in.

If you think ahead, you shouldn't have to worry about people picking twice in a row. Have back-ups in what you want to pick. I for one don't care how its randomized just so we get this thing going.

I assume you are going to find out on the 11th or 12th, since the contest starts on the 12th. We want to give the maximum time allowed for sign-ups.
