This is about what I expected it to be. A nice twisting course, airtime hills, etc. It also says its a "winged" seating arrangement. One a rendering on the link, its not a wing rider. Its a staggered V-shaped 4 across seating not unlike the new B&M hyper seating as found on Diamondback,Behemoth and Intimidator.

Overall, it looks like a great addition for Hersheypark!

New Intamin train design. Two floored seats and two wing rider style floorless seats. Looks like it fits into the area well just as we anticipated. A little disappointed they couldn't come up with a better name, theme, and logo, but all is well. It will cost an estimated $25 million and feature yellow track and light blue supports. Good combination in my opinion. The trains will be a deep blue with yellow accents. 50 degrees lift and and 85 degree first drop. Looks impressive.

This fits perfectly into Hersheypark's lineup and while I'm not a huge fan of it being built in such a small location on top of everything else it looks like a good addition. Hopefully it will be an airtime machine and the new trains offer some diversity from your typical Intamin Hyper/Mega Coaster and semi-confirm the wing rider speculation.

2013 Agenda: Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Dollywood, Dollywood's Splash Country, and Carowinds.

Coaster Count: 120 - Griffon Count: 52

Am I seeing what I think I see? Lap bars only, even on the outside seats?

Where do you see that it looks like that? I honestly can't tell what it looks like though the two Mega-Lites that have been built use just lap bars so my thought would be that this would too though Intimidator 305's lap bars/shoulder straps are also a possibility.

I take that back, I blew the render up to its native resolution and it appears to only be a lap bar, nothing appears to attach to the back of the seat.

I seriously hope not....those things were horrible, which is why they replaced them with the harnesses/straps they have now. They don't work well for people who have most of their height in their legs and have shorter torsos, as your head doesn't come out of the restraints and just gets tossed around as you snap back and forth. I'll definitely give it a chance, but I'm hoping they learn from Kings Dominion here and go with a better restraint system.

Nevermind then.

It certainly looks that way to me too Mike.

Overall, i'm impressed with the whole concept and plan. To me, this is the type of coaster Hershey needed to round out it's line-up.

I luv the many water fly-bys, and can only imagine it's interaction with the other close by coasters will be up to the parks other offerings.

I looks like Intamin is taking a big page from it's #1 competitor B&M with these new trains, the outside seats should provide an excellent ride experience, again, just like B&M's newest Hyper V-train.

If it's only a lap-bar, than i would presume some type of modification would be in the works that would "wrap" around your mid-section a lil' more snuggly than your basic lap-bar...just a thought, perhaps like...naw, forget that thought.

Looks great overall, and quite a bit different than a "mini" I305 that most everyone was bantering on about. Very unique in and of itself, i would say.;)

I am just as excited about the revitalization of Comet Hollow, it is long overdue.

Hersheypark, which is well known for blending the past with both the present and the future as it offers guests a one-of-a-kind experience, is reclaiming about three acres of land that have been closed to the public since 1972. The land is the site of the Park’s former “Sunken Gardens,” a popular place for early visitors to Hershey to take a stroll. The area is now being transformed not only by the new coaster, but also by a renovation that will result in the creation of a scenic observation path that’s lined by globe streetlights, fencing, trees, landscaping and flowers. The area will allow guests to reflect on the Park’s history while watching riders on a state-of-the-art mega coaster.

The coaster’s station house is being modeled after historic train stations in the Hershey area. New restroom facilities, games and food stands will replicate the Park’s buildings of yesteryear, and a new floating fountain in Spring Creek will bring back memories of days gone by.

Will Hershey be refilling the creek once construction is done?

Thanks for going for us. It was a lot shorter than I expected...I should have guessed that it would have been 12 minutes long. :P

Yes, according to their permits they are required to have the creek area completely restored by May 1st, 2012.

Soo...beautiful...completely open seats with only lap bars...am I the only one seeing no real cars, just flats with seats on top? Looks like we may be getting a new Nolimits coaster style, too ;)

Intamin, you have impressed me yet again. Welcome to the future. Intamin: 1 ----- B&M: 0.

<--- This guy will be taking a trip to Hersheypark next year. Oh, and please let something like this come to CP ;)

I'm sure since they had to do what they did with Great Bear to keep it out of the water, the creek will be in good shape after this. Leave it to Hershey to make something like this fit in a small place with all kinds of other rides in the area. They have always been good at that. PA and NJ are on my list for next year for sure!

I found this today, and to me, it looks like over the shoulder lap bars without shoulder restraints.

Any artwork for the coaster's restraint system right now is just "concept art." The park hasn't made a decision yet as to what kind of restraint system will be needed. It was one of the questions in the Q&A video I believe and it was pretty much a "wait and see? answer (because they aren't sure themselves yet).

I feel like someone somewhere along the line has to know, at least Intamin. With those seats on the outside, restraints would have to be specifically made and would be harder to just switch between OTSR and lap bars during development.

Two blonds are driving down I 95 to Kings Dominian. They see a sign that says "Kings Dominain Left". So they turned around and went home.

With those outside "winged" seats....I just have a feeling that Intamin would almost want to require OSTRs. However, I don't think we'd be looking at Kingda Ka, Maverick or the old I305 style restraints. I think we'd be looking more along the lines of the types of restraints now seen on I305, their spinning coasters & ZacSpins.

Personally, I'd love to see lapbars on SkyRush, it seems to be nice and smooth with some good airtime hills...perfect enough for a lapbar. The only question is, would they split it up. Lapbars in the center seats and OSTR's on the outers? Or would they all either be lapbars or OSTRs?

Oh...I'd say a trip out to Hershey is on tap for me too next year :)
