However, I still believe a new attraction is coming for next year. They just won't announce it until September/October.

Again, I'm pretty sure the early August announcements at many of the parks are going to be about their Halloween Haunt events and they are just hyping them up. It's a little early right now to be making announcements about rides, usually that's only done when construction has gotten to a point where they can't hide what the ride is anymore. As SFGAm hasn't even laid any footers yet for any addition, I doubt this is a "big ride announcement."
But, we'll see on August 1st
I disagree. I feel the announcement will be early so everyone can get their last rides on Iron Wolf before it closes for good.

The only thing that concerns me is there is no markings whatsoever near Iron Wolf (as of Monday via personal observation). You would figure if they were tearing it down they would need to at least mark the gas, water, and sewer lines.
My thoughts exactly. I think this is just another Screamscape rumor. But, as I said before, we'll know soon enough.

64 downloadsIt now says "It's baaack!" This could mean...
- AE Blue runs backwards again
- American Eagle is getting topper track (which is going to happen anyways)
- Sky Whirl is coming back! (joke)

EDIT: While watching a Cubs segment on WGN 9, a commercial came on saying Eagle is running backwards starting August.

If you liked guessing this announcement, just wait until later this fall
That was on their Facebook page. So as we guessed, a big announcement IS coming! If it lives up to the hype, it will be the biggest announcement since 2003 for the park.

Iron Wolf is officially leaving...
Six Flags Great America/Hurricane Harbor
After a long 21 year history at the park, we will be removing Iron Wolf. Make sure to get your last rides in – Iron Wolf's Last Stand is September 5.
Interesting to see the park deny it over and over, and then this comes out. Six Flags is obviously semi-re-instituting the ride (more like roller coaster) rotation program. I honestly feel like this came from corporate, and the park didn't really have a clue (they may have had some indications). This also leaves two really large unused areas in the park. The Iron Wolf area and the Splashwater Falls area. I doubt the 2012 will be so big that it uses both of the areas, but you never know. Either way I'm obviously missing out on something big when I go this fall. That's a shame. It's also a shame I'm missing out on Iron Wolf, at least it's not too far away at SFA (at least that's what everyone is saying will happen).
It just baffles me that they'd remove a roller coaster, especially one of some significance, when you already have another unused, open area in the park to build a large scale attraction.
Edit: I suppose there is an upside to this... Iron Wolf's longevity probably just spiked between possible new trains and a refurbishment in its relocation.
2013 Agenda: Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Dollywood, Dollywood's Splash Country, and Carowinds.

There's still the rumor that SFA is getting a stand-up, and Iron Wolf is definitely not a stand-up.

If it does go to SFA, where would it go? Is the Two Face lot in use or is there still some room there?
