I don't really agree with saving something that was the first of its kind unless you are saving it in a museum. If it's no longer something that draws people to the parks then it's not serving its purpose and it should go.
SFA shouldn't be a dumping ground for SFGAdv, SFGAm, and SFMM rides that are past their prime. Not that I love the park, but stuff like that just irks me. If it's bad enough a flagship park needs to get rid of it, then get rid of it. Don't pawn it off on some other park. That's my opinion.

We'll have to see how this plays out, but if SFA does get this dumped on them I'll just be mad for "ethical" reasons. I think turning SFA into a dumping ground is wrong.

Given those statements, unless they do a lot of rehab to it when they take it apart and put it back together, then I wouldn't consider myself fortunate to get it. It just doesn't look or feel right to me (again, my personal feelings). Yes, it fills a gap that SFA has, and, yes, it was "the first of its kind," but that doesn't automatically make it good or "re-ridable."
I'll leave it up to the SFA patrons to decide whether they got a "treasure" or "trash" though.

No one knows for sure if it's even coming to SFA yet.Does anyone know if the ride is going to be rethemed at all? I'm not exactly sure where Skull Mountain was in the park, as I haven't been there, but is it close to their dc comics section, where SROS and Joker's Jinx are?

I'll tell you what, Vater. IF it comes to SFA and IF they do a Media Day for it, I'll definitely keep you in mind for going for us. Sound like a deal?

Again, if the fans at SFGAm were just bored with it and wanted something new...sure, no problem. But that doesn't appear to be what's going on here. Everyone I've talked to from the area (including several staff members here) say that it's extremely rough to the point of being painful, and they look forward to it leaving.

I go to SFGAm about 5 times a year and I didn't get bored of it because it was the only coaster I haven't been on more than 10 times there. I skip it every year I go because of how bad it is. The drop, loop, and turn around isn't bad but the corkscrew and everything after just jerks your head in the harness. It's about time it's leaving.

Sure, that could be possible depending on the timing.

Awesome! I look forward to that day (should it come), and possibly for other events in the area too if you are interested. You just let me know where you can go and when, as I know you have lots of considerations.

I'm going to the park tomorrow so I'll let you guys know how Wolf is and if I see anymore markings around SWF area. I've also heard the park discounted all merchandise of Iron Wolf by 50%.
Let me know if the blue print posters are on sale (and if they still have them). I am heading to the park on Monday.

Ok, I will. From what I've heard only the AE blueprints are currently being sold as of yesterday. I'll check to see if any Wolf ones are still available.
UPDATE: Matt, I sent you a PM. Iron Wolf is just as bad as I remember and I even went to the front row.

I will be making it over to the park in the next few weeks to get my final rides in on "Iron Wolf"....she may be rough, but I will be sad to see her go (and if merchandise is 50% off...I will definitely get some "Iron Wolf" swag).

I still think we will see a big attraction in 2012. The coaster might not even go in Wolf's spot and the demolition doesn't take too long for Wolf. Plus SFGAm in the past didn't start building larger rides including coasters until late. Track for Superman didn't arrive until close to October in 2002.
Rumors are saying it's a B&M Wing Rider and SF recently trademarked X-Flight. That name sure goes well with a wing rider but I don't know if we will see one next year. I see something in the former spot of SWF and GAR where there are currently big piles of broken concrete.

of that vacation. American Eagle, Batman: The Ride, Raging Bull, Viper, and Whizzer should not be missed.
Even though there are better Arrow's than Demon, better clones of Superman-UF, and better twisted impulse
shuttles than V2, they were good additions also. With nice water rides and some good dry thrill rides, this park
is fully loaded. I don't think that we will miss a 20 year old B&M stand-up. (It was the first one of its kind and
the first ride by that builder, so the history is kind of cool.)
NO FEAR !!

The park has wonderful coasters but very few good flat rides. The only flat rides of actual quality are probably Giant Drop and King Chaos (excluding the water rides). The rest are basically scramblers and stuff you would find at a carnival. Condor isn't so bad I guess but a new quality flat is needed such as an S&S swing. With that said, I do see Richochet going soon and maybe something to put in Trailblazer's old spot.
Anyways, back to the 2012 attraction. According to SFGAm World's reports, there are orange marking around the arcade that happens to be conveniently located right off the path next to the SWF/GAR's open spot is. Could this be where the station or queue building is going for a new coaster?

In getting back to the park's future, I should say that while in line for Superman-UF, an employee and first time coaster rider said that they heard from the company that Iron Wolf is totally being broken down and that it is being replaced with a "major coaster".

Revolution is one of my least favorite flats at the park. The seats are extremely uncomfortable with your head almost facing downward the majority of the ride and not much room from the people beside you. On say Maxair the people face outwards which gives you more freedom but with this facing inwards you are very restricted. I've been on it three times and never plan to ride it again as it doesn't provide much air either.
With Wolf leaving in a couple weeks we should start seeing some construction equipment move in which will inform us where the new ride will be. Will it go in Wolf's current spot or the big SWF/GAR spot? Other than what ride it will be, the location is one of the biggest questions.
