We see them all the time, and they are definitely things that only enthusiasts would notice.

Starting off with St. Louis.

I'm confused. Where's the fail? Are you counting the fake building? Cause that's not really a fail, its just a cheap solution.

I guess he means that the scaffolding can be seen by the GP very easily, which is very much a fail since they are not supposed to see it.

This is not a fail. In fact, it most likely generated a good deal of money.

It's a failure when you consider that I'm sure Six Flags had intended on keeping the three Deja Vu coasters for at least a decade, and have them run reliably during that time. Only one remains in the chain, and it's not even at the park at which it was originally built. Not exactly a success...

Of all the parks they could have moved this to, why SFNE? They already have a Boomerang, and they put them right next to each other! What!?!

Putting a Vekoma SLC in a park that already has a B&M BtR clone.

Disagree with both of the above posts. SLC and BTR are vastly different rides. Boomerang and GIB are closer, but still offer pretty different experiences.

Oh, I'm not saying that they are similar rides. I'm just saying its a poor decision to place such an inferior compact invert in a park that has a BtR clone, arguable the best compact invert ever made.

Point taken, but I still don't agree it's a poor decision. Honestly, it's a shame the SLC has that reputation, because in my opinion, it would easily be as good or better (gasp!) than the BtR clones with trains that tracked as well as B&M's.

Yeah, I love a good ride on an SLC! Amazing design! Those footchoppers during the barrel rolls are incredibly scary!

Oh I agree that the SLC design is stellar. As a matter of fact, the double-inverting "rollover" is one of my favorite inversions ever. I still prefer the uber-intense positive G fest that is a BtR clone, but its nothing against the SLC layout. But those trains just have problems, and that layout is too bold for them to handle long term. If you've ever ridden a SLC in its opening year or so, they can really deliver, but they age quickly. SFGAm's BtR on the other hand is now 20 years old and still tracking perfectly.

Fun side note, this is making me consider starting a BtR vs. SLC discussion thread. That could be quite fun, and something many enthusiasts on this board could contribute to, unlike the SheiKra v. Giffon and Manta v. Tatsu debates.

This is very close to saying:
"Dude, Cedar Point already has the best giga coaster in the world! Why would they put in a stupid little Impulse Coaster?"

Six Flags New Orleans almost made the same move actually.

^I'm actually kind of excited to ride that this summer. But yes. Six Flags needs to check the city ordinances before building.

Also, fail.

@ Vater, I'd also agree that the inclined twisted spike looks to make that one of the most exciting Intamin impulse inverts.

Yeah, I've heard it's fun, too, but that's beside the point. The fact that Six Flags built a ride that was too tall for the height ordinance is one huge fail.

Togo being a failure is debatable. While their US coasters have been met with largely negative opinions, and don't really have the best track record with only 3 of 8 still in operation, they have nearly 30 operating in Asia, and it's my opinion that a company can't be judged based on a very small fraction of their coasters. And frankly, I've always thought their coasters were better than most people (especially enthusiasts) give them credit for, and their stand-ups, to me, are more fun than the B&Ms.
