You can submit all sorts of theme park pictures for us to consider. They don't have to be current to this competition either so if you have a shot you took at a park back in May, or even a great pic of the sadly deceased Big Bad Wolf, go ahead and submit that too. Feel free to upload resized images if lower file sizes help the process go faster, but we do ask that you have an original file of the picture with a minimum of 1.5 MB for quality purposes. And of course all photographs must be your own. Proof of plagiarism will result in all of your entries being disqualified.
Now to keep any one person from overloading the contest, we will be dividing things into three categories and you may only submit one photo per category (note: you don't have to submit a picture in every category). These categories will be:
- Action - A shot focused on the ride vehicle going through its course, often a close up.
- Element - a shot of a specific part of a ride, like a loop, corkscrew, or lift hill.
- Layout - an overview shot showing off a majority of the ride's run.
This contest will be open for submissions for the entire month of July. At the end of the month, a panel of judges from the Staff will select the best photograph from each category. A poll will then be set up for all of you to vote for which one is your favorite. The winner will have his picture featured on the cover of our 2013 COASTER-net Calendar. The two runners up will also be guaranteed to have their pictures in the calendar as well.
The contest will be open to all COASTER-net.com members, including Staff, Elders, and Admins. Also, please keep in mind that all submitting photographs must have a "landscape" orientation to fit our calendars. Vertical photographs will not be considered. With that said, happy photo hunting!
