Well, On rollercoaster tycoon 2 you can only make coaster a certain hight and Top Thrill Dragster is the tallest in the world. Do you think they will make a coaster taller?

Im not to sure, I would have to say 500ft, but might not even get that far next year, there is a good chance somthing will come that might be somwhere in the 400ft range like 450, but who knows.

I would predict that in 2007, we'll pass 500 feet. Just based off a couple good rumors.

Well the 700 footer is being made by Aroow, but not in 2005. I think they will reach 500 feet though.

I don't think that we'll be at 500 feet in 2005. Maybe more around 2007 or 2008, that sounds more realistic to me. I think next time the height record is broken, it will still be in the 400 feet range. Probably 1 to 2 more coasters over 400 before we hit 500.

Arrow's Fishook coaster was cancelled, sadly. Here is a topic with discussion on the former project.

I think they'll get to 500, but probably past 2006, as most people on this topic are thinking. Most parks are always wanting bigger and faster coasters, so it'll probably climb up to 500 at some point. That X-Scream thing looked cool, too bad that Arrow's cancelling it.

Nah X-scream was built. It was the fishhook that got canceled and that wasn't arrows fault. X-Scream is an S&S ride that tips off the top of the tower you slid out over the edge then it pulls you back...a pretty simple concept.

Yeah, X-scream looks very awsome. Man, that Fishook would have been awsome. I hope that they build it somwhere, at an amusement park, like CP?lol, who knows.
As for the other ones, I think we will hit 500 next year, or in 2006, who knows. When ever though, it will be sweet.

I think that some hotel place just like Stratosphere Tower will get some like the Fishhook design that sadly got rejected.

Maybe 500ft, but not likely. We all saw what happened with TTD, it was too big to mantaon. It kept breaking down, and the back of the train had to be taken off. Theres a very unlikely chance of a chain lift going 500ft, just based on space. Unless a new launch type is made, or at least improved, coasters won't be breaking 500ft or being named a hesocoaster. I'd love to see the idea actually be accomplished and working, but its not likely for anothe 7 or 8 years.

I see it working, To save space, somehow have a lift pull the trains either verticle or close to it. Like MF, its got a steep lift. If they find a way to make the lift really steep, it will be ok. A launch might work, yeah they have had a lot of problems with it. but its the first one, first of a kind coasters usually have some problems, so just give it time. I dont think another 7 or 8 years, but who knows.

Ah, but you always have options. Right now I'm working on my vision of CP's 500-footer in NL. It gets you into the vertical position first, then rockets you off. Just some food for thought B)

Yeah, that is awsome, I was thinking of somthing like that, except inverted 2 seats. I had an awsome Idea, like a rocket idea, and you stop, looking strait up... and it is pitch black, than it starts the count down, and 2 doors open with all of this fog, than you burst out straight up, how ever high you want it to be, than do a top hat like TTD, but instead, have it a big inversion, kinda like Volcano.

Well blackpool pleasure beach (here in england) is going to get a stata coaster larger than ttd in the next couple of years breaking all records but that will probably only be a bit more than the ttd so we won't make 500ft for a while yet!

lol, yeah, but who cares what it is, as long as we break 500ft over near me :D Ill be happy. I mean, they need a big one over there also, but I would like one here to so I would be able to ride it.

So here is another question. What other types of coasters do u think will be the next to hit that high? What do u wish would hit a height like 300 or 400? When I say this, I mean what other coasters, wooden, flying, standup, etc.
For me
The next coaster type to make it up there, Im not sure. I dont think we will be seeing stand ups that big for a long time.

I would love to see a flying hit a mark of 250-300  that would be so incredible, along with floorless and inverted :D

I think that for now we'll be stuck with sit-down, above-track steel coasters for our largest record-breakers. Almost a tradition now. Wooden probably won't go too much taller due to the amount of dense supports. And if we do see a much larger woodie, I'm sure that it may have a steel support structure to conserve all of that wood.
