I may be getting some KD fans mad, but Grizzly wasn't all I expected. It seemed like a good coaster looking at its location, but the overall ride wasn't up to par IMO. Batman: The Ride @ SFGAdv wasn't that great either, but that's due to it's length. Had it been longer, I might have enjoyed it more. I find a ride's length to be a factor in how I enjoy them.

Oblivion. It is a good ride but it is too short (in height and length.) with no air time. The line was also of an impossible length (spilling all the way out to submission) when I went. The quque line video is also incredibly strange. Good music though. I got on thinking that it would be a heck of a bigger ride. No.. Rides seem a lot bigger on camera. They also look more fun. (Oh, it is also one of the rougher B&Ms.).
It would be really weird if you went to the grocery store and bought a bunch of food, then you brought it to the cashier and he started eating it.

^have you even been on Oblivion. Please, unless if you have been on that coaster, don't say its overrated and has no airtime. I'm not trying to be mean, but I just don't want you to get in trouble.

As for coasters, I'd say Big Bad Wolf. The Theming is someof the best I've seen, it truely makes up 1/2 of the ride, but the ending was a tad bit of a disapointment because it was way to short and had a trim. Also, it was a little rough, but exceptible.
Also, Canobie Corkscrew is SO overhyped by my school. Everyone goes "The corkscrew is so :censored: awesome " But in reality, the only good part is the airtime filled first drop. Other than that, its either rough or boring. Simple as that.

^ I have been on Oblivion and I mean what I say. The only trace of airtime is on the hill leading to the breakrun and on the vertical drop. (which is wicked awesome but it is too short!)

I do agree that many people think the Canobie Corkscrew is too awesome. All of my friends say it is a million times better than the Yankee cannonball. But whenever I come off it, I just have a headache and a lady next to me complaining about a broken back.

Most the people at my school have only been to great america(cedar fair). And there all ubssesed with Top Gun. I mean sure its an ok ride but for the short duration, the huge wait, and the lack of elements its not that good of a ride.

^ yeah we go to the same school and that is seriously the only coaster people talk about. Its pretty fun ride but what Phanoity says is true. I only put it in the Under rated coaster thread cause nobody talks about it outside our middle school.

Well, I think Hydra: The Revenge is a little overrated. I really like it's layout (that corkscrew before the Cobra Roll... the heartline roll at the beginning)... but it has some jerky points on track. the inclined dive loop is kind of twisted.. and the cobra roll has a very ugly shape.... can you see it at this pic?

I didn't know enough people liked hydra: the revenge for it to be overrated.

Raptor!- ya its fun,but everybody makes it out to this amazing ride, but I just didn't find it to be that great? Not worth more then a 30 minute wait.

Thats all I can think of right now. I'm sure I have more

Nemesis - it is a bloody good ride, I'll give it that, but I found it to be no where near as good as it is hyped up to be. I was very disappointed when I rode it.

That is probably the only coaster I have been on that I found to be highly overrated, although there are probably others which don't spring to mind at the moment.

I don't think I have a coaster in my credits that is highly rated that I didn't also think was more than decent of--at least.

My biggest disappointments on fairly high rated coasters would probably have to be 1) Hypersonic XLC @ KD (thats it??), 2) Pandemonium @ SFNE (elevated, sometimes spinning teacups--whee), and 3) Flight of Fear @ KD (great anticipation and start, goes rather lameish & neck painful later)

None of these three suck; they're all gathered in the lower third of my ratings--BUT, they seem to be higher rated by others than myself, so thats why I think they're over-rated.

*cough*SonofBeast*cough*. I'm surprised no one's mentioned SoB yet. A lot of people like the ride; however, it is one of the most painful experiences I've had on a ride of any kind. At least they've removed the loop now-is it open and has anyone rode it?

Sounds like a good coaster to me. :)

Depends what sort of painful it is. Generally, coasters without otsrs that are rough/violent rock from my limited experiance. But otsrs ruin everything. But like i said, limited experiance.

SoB is a very pretty woodie.

I know Ragin' Cajun is supposed to be awful, but Borg Assimilator has great theming, but I don't know about the ride. Does anybody on here ride it fairly often and can you give it a review? I would like to go to Carowinds to ride it.

Borg has a nice theme, but its a clone... and the layout is kinda boring. I agree. The ad campaign is way too extravagant (did I spell that right?). But the worse part was near the end, just before we got into the corkscrew, a part of the harness started jabbing me in the back. On the corkscrews, I was thrown around, and BOY, DOES IT HURT! I don't know about you, but that happened to me EVERY time I rode the Borg.

Speaking of Overrated coasters
Meanwhile, you guys don't know how lucky you are in the US. Don't be fooled by appearances. Some feel that Taiwan has a few roller coasters worth mentioning. I say no.

Even the famous dive machine G5 is an Oblivion clone, and is really boring, save for the drop.

The floorless coaster is too tightly packed and gets real bumpy on the corkscrews. It makes you sick, really. I'm not a nausea guy, yet that one made me kinda light-headed.

The Leofoo village Screaming Condor impulse coaster from Intamin is just like the others, but it has a poor record and is usually closed. Lines get really long, too.

The 2-seat invert from Vekoma, Mayan Adventure, recently suffered an accident, leaving one passenger paralized from the neck down.

STILL WANT TO COME?

If you want to come to Taiwan JUST for the roller coasters, forget it. THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE!!!

There are other things worth coming for, though...
