Hello members of Coaster-net.com.

We have a big Thanksgiving gift for all of you this year. You guessed it, Coaster Draft 08.

You may be wondering what a coaster draft is right now, but we assure you it's no very complicated. If you've ever watched a football or basketball draft on T.V. or listened to one on the radio you may already know some of the rules. Each person takes turns picking roller coasters from the ones that are currently operating (on earth). However, you may not pick a ride that has already been picked by another person.

Remember the goal of a coaster draft isn't to make a list with all the best rides or only inverts, for example. The goal is to make a well rounded park with good rides that fit together. Don't forget to include family rides because even those are important.

There will be ten rounds in the coaster draft and everyone will have twenty-four hours to make their pick. If you miss your pick it's no big deal (although we do not encourage it ) but if you miss the first round of drafting, or 3 turns you will be disqualified. The sign ups will be held until Saturday and round trading will take place for another two days after that.

After you choose all of your coasters a three day trading period will start in which you may trade rides. After that you will have two weeks to either make an RCT park out of your picks or write a description.

I will make cards listing your park name, "designer"(you), rides, and pictures of these rides.

Well, I just had to reread it. So, basically we pick real life coasters, trade them, then describe the park we place them in?

I'm in. I didn't realize we were expanding the list beyond 12.

I thought we were going to 15 but I can stop the sign ups right now.

No it's fine. It's when I first saw the list it was only to 12, and I figured it was full and didn't sign up. However, when I saw it had been expanded to 15 I went ahead and signed up. No big deal. Personally 15 sounds like a good number to me for a Coaster Draft.

I don't think anyone in their right mind will go RCT on this, for most of the good coasters out there take up extensive space and lots of terraforming, too much to do between the draft's completion and an alotted due date for the final entry, not to mention some are pretty much impossible to do on RCT of any type.

Well, I might. You can atleast make recreations close to the actual ride.

That was put in because it was a past rule, but I was considering taking it out because you might have a terrible park but you present it great with RCT. That wouldn't be fair to someone who made a great park but is a failure at RCT.

Im going to partake in this one for fun. I'm not going to write a spiel at the end im just gonna draft for fun.
