Looks Intamin to me. The design of the supports is noticeably different than any B&M's I've seen, plus they're being unloaded from shipping containers.

I wanted more info on it before making a thread, like what kind of coaster it could be. After the ones Don just showed, we can rule out a B&M because those supports look nothing like anything B&M would make. It may be an Intamin and possibly an Intamin hyper, or even giga perhaps (since KD already has Drop Tower at around 300, they wouldn't really need to go about doing anything on height restrictions). They definitely have the room for either one.

Those supports scream Intamin AG. Intamin AG is known for the 'ring of bolt holes' at the base of each support, and there recent support have been designed in an awkward manner. What I mean is they are not a simple design anymore. They fit together like a puzzle of different sized and shaped pieces rather than a puzzle with similar pieces that look a lot like each other. Here are a few examples.

Example 1, Example 2, Example 3, Example 4, and Example 5

Well I was right and wrong. I said they weren't going to get a B&M, but I also said the ywere not going to get a roller coaster in 2010 so I guess I'm wrong. I'm thinking it will be one of the following: a Mega Coaster, a LIM Hybrid Coaster like the Maverick, an Accelerator Coaster (thrilling or family style), or an Aqua Trax.

2013 Agenda: Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Dollywood, Dollywood's Splash Country, and Carowinds.

Coaster Count: 120 - Griffon Count: 52

Sorry about all the confusion in posting. I posted my initial findings to the KD future thread because I wanted to get more info on it before starting. Since Don already did, we might as well use it and we can always re-name and modify it. drachenfirebgw's post was also originally there and I moved it here.

Man, this really makes me mad! This year i've already been lucky enough to go to Universal Studios, SWO before manta, Islands of Adventure, and I'm goin to Kings Dominian in a week! This has been an insane year but do all the parks im going to have to get a major coaster or even an island right after i go!

Two blonds are driving down I 95 to Kings Dominian. They see a sign that says "Kings Dominain Left". So they turned around and went home.

Well, I'll do some ruling out to make sure people know what its not and might not be. They already have 3 launch coasters, so I am skeptical about a sit down launcher of any sort. It definitely won't be an impulse or standard Intamin invert with Volcano on the premesis. Looper is out with the recent addition of Dominator and Anaconda. An Intamin Mega seems the most likely for the rumor for a hyper of any sort has been a long time rumor since the end of Dominator's first season, not to mention they have more than enough room for it and judging by some clearing behind Anaconda, that seems the most plausable.

With what type of coaster it would be. I don't know. It almost has to be a hyper or flyer because thats all they don't have. I think it would be insane if they had a launch then instead of a Magalite have a S:ROS kinda ride. KD has more space then they know what to do with, I think Cedar Fair right now is okay with money, and it would get back their launch record. Also knowing Intimin's inventiveness mabye it's a new prototype or an Intamin Flyer.

What's up with the squareish supports. I haven't seen anything like that. I do beleive it might not be Intamin (I hope it is) and rather the new Vekoma design.

I must say that I am quite perplexed by these squarish supports. The bolt holes on the bottom scream Intamin, but I can't seem to find an example of those square supports on an Intamin. Those supports may be for a station/transfer area where supports aren't usually seen, which could explain me not having seen them before.

You can't find an example of those supports? What about iSpeed? I believe it's intamin. That'd be :censored: cool if it was like iSpeed as well.

Thats what I get for not following construction. I had no idea that iSpeed was using those supports. I must say though, those supports look pretty ugly. I much prefer the round supports.

I think this Q&A may answer or hint at answers to a few questions I've seen here, such as whether or not it will be a launcher (probably not) and whether or not the park has any height restrictions (no):

Those supports do, indeed, look exactly like ISpeed's. But still, those containers seem to be the same as the ones found at the B&M plant, and who is to say that B&M will not start using square supports? (After all, Intamin made the change...so could B&M.)

Nevertheless, square supports sure look ugly. Taiko Straight Face

Ok, heres my thoughts

If its a Vekoma, then it shouldn't be too bad, after all I've heard they've been getting smoother over the years.
If its a B&M it could be a new design, but they would be using KD to prototype it, which in that case would be good and bad. The good being a new design, the bad being that there will be greater and much more interesting
If its an Intamin then anything can happen, and if its a new coaster concept it will turn out great (coughmaverickcough) if it is a Maverick style coaster launch or no launch it would be awesome.

I do hope the coaster fits in with the theme by hurler the "Rock" theme :D

It's actually not going where HyperSonic XLC used to be, as the area behind Anaconda's lift hill is being clear out. Along with the pictures of the supports there are a few pictures of the clearing in that area. I'm assuming the entrance will be alongside to Flight of Fear's entrance.

Also, as someone mentioned before, those supports match iSpeed's support perfectly so my guess (like I said before) is that it will be an Intamin of some sort. I also do not think it will be one of the newly designed Vekoma's as the supports do not match. Here's a picture of the support from one of Vekoma's newly designed roller coasters going in at Universal Studios Singapore.

Well, it looks like Intamin launch, but it would make a lot more sense to add B&M hyper in my opinion. That's the major thing the park is laking.

Those supports are identical to Ispeed's. I think this is guarenteed to be Intamin.

When Cedar Fair aquires new properties, they add coasters too them in bulk. In the past they have made multi-coaster deals for Morgan Hypers and Intamin Inverted Impulse. Now they have built 2 B&M Hypers and possibly a 3rd in Carowinds. What if this is somehow B&M?

I really don't see how that's possible. Also, maybe KD is the beginning of another bulk installation.

Yeah, I don't really like the look of those supports. As long as it doesn't affect the ride, I think I can live with it though. ;) Also, there are rumors going around that this might be a giga. I can believe that since the clearing has gone behind Rebel Yell already. I hope it is a giga so I won't have to go to Ohio to ride one. ^_^

That's what I've heard too but I'm not getting my hopes to high. (although I would really like one because MF is an amazing ride)

-Red supports have begun arriving on the scene. However it is not Intamin or B&M track. It's Premier track like the one being used on the new fastest coaster in the world.

Ok, so I'm a little surprised at this next development...doesn't look like B&M or Intamin track!

http://www.kdfansite...m...m=53&pos=68

I've heard rumblings about possibly being either Premier or Vekoma, though I've never seen double-spined track quite like that. I'm not one to fuel rumors, but with heavy-duty spine like that, I wonder if it just may be something huge like a giga...I can hope, at least. :)

I'll die laughing if this becomes a Vekoma Motorbike. Though, i can't say I've ever seen track on vekomas/premiers double spined like that...

I don't think I've ever seen track like this.

You know what would be funny?

If this turned out to be Vekoma's first giga
