I guess I would have to call myself a man with a number of interests over the years that I throw myself into with a full passion--coasters included.
For most my life that has been most obvious in the various fields of athletics, I was one of those shy guys that was always considered "too small" to play major team sports--I graduated HS @ 17 being ~5' 8 1/2" & 140#. I think I luved proving people wrong as much as succeeding for myself.
I played Lacrosse in college & was a competive runner for ~20 years, yea, longer than most of you have been breathing, I know.
Today, I go about 5' 9 1/2" & 175# & I still luv playing football, b'ball, lifting, & running with teens & old folks, as I've coached & trained many people over the years.
Another major interest in my life has been music, an area where I am a very UN-gifted person; none the less, the same passion, tenacity, and dedication that brought success in athletics, by God's grace has allowed me to sing & play Bass in bands & choirs that I NEVER would have thought possible earlier in my life. My wife & kids have greatly helped me in this area also, as they are all far more gifted than myself--in fact, music ed. with a keyboard prof. is my sons major in college.
I "discovered" a luv for coasters in 98'--hence my "birth" date--I've always been a speed freak but also have a paralyzing fear of heights, so coasters have allowed me to overcome that fear, to a point!! If I have a goal, its to ride coasters till I'm gone from this place called earth.
Other interests are hiking, from mountains to marshes; identifying all sorts of wildlife from birds to salamanders; the one peaceful thing I do is garden, no kidding, and I actually enjoy mowing the lawn, when I make time.
TV, computer games, & reading take up a little dead time, especially in the winter months.
Oh, and I luv doing as much of all this with my family as I can--it makes it all that much more special.
