Busch Gardens Tampa to open Sesame Street Safari of Fun
New children's section will feature more than 10 rides and places to eat

New Children's Section: Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will be opening the Sesame Street Safari of Fun Section in 2010.Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has recently announced their plans for all that land they’ve been clearing. Opening March 27, 2010, Sesame Street Safari of Fun will be a welcome addition to the parks great selection of coasters and entertainment.
The new section will feature several kid-sized rides, play areas, photo opportunities with many Sesame Street characters, and several shopping and dining facilities. The new section will be located next to the Bird Gardens and will be approximately 2.5 acres.
“This new attraction is going to be unlike anything families have encountered before, with unique African-inspired costumes for Elmo, Big Bird and their friends, and exciting adventures for families to share,” says Donnie Mills, Busch Gardens’ executive vice president and general manager. “With the addition of Sesame Street Safari of Fun, Busch Gardens truly has something for all ages, and this new destination in the park is certain to be a hit among families and kids.”
Among the additions to the park are a new family coaster, a flume ride through the Nile River, and a 4-d movie that will be playing in the Timbuktu area theater. A merry-go-round, a theater and two large play areas are to be built as well. Families will have an opportunity to eat at “Dine with Elmo and Friends” and Snack-n-Getti Tribal Treats.
Sesame Street Safari of Fun will be a nice addition to Busch Gardens’s already great list of things for families to enjoy.
New attractions will include:- Air Grover: A Family roller coaster for adults and children alike to enjoy- The Count's Zambezi Rally: A mini car ride that takes riders through a desert and down tribal trails.- Zoe-Patra & the Hippos of the Nile: A flume ride that travels down the famous Nile River- Snuffy's Elephant Romp: A flying elephant ride where riders control the height of their elephant- Elmo's Safari Go-Round: A tribal carousel ride with Elmo and friends- Rosita's Djembe Fly-Away: A chair swing ride themed to an African jungle canopy- Big Bird's Whirly Birdie:- A fun Ferris wheel ride- Telly's Jungle Jam: An engaging play area for all children to learn while still having fun- Elmo's Treehouse Trek: An exciting three story play structure- Cookie Monster's Canopy Crawl: A three story net climbing structure- Slimey's Sahara Sand: A desert oasis where kids can play in the sand- Oscar's Swamp Stomp: A water play area for kids to cool off in the hot desert sun- Bert & Ernie's Watering Hole: A fun-filled adventure with bubbles, geysers, jets, and dumping buckets- Sunny Day Theater: A place where musical performances bring Sesame Street to life- Sesame Street Presents "Lights, Camera, Imagination!": A 4-D movie that is full of exciting 3-D effects with surprise wind and water fun
