A new surprise for kids will be awaiting them in the start of the 2011 season at the Drayton Manor amusement park, located in Drayton Bassett, England. The park currently has 4 operating roller coasters, and a junior size coaster will be the park's fifth as the new season begins. The current Sombreros attraction was announced several weeks ago that it would be removed, but the reason why was undetermined at the time. Now it is official and the ride will be removed in order to make room for Drayton Manor's new addition for the season.
There are not many details are known about the design of this new Vekoma style kiddie coaster, however, it is rumored that it is going to have a shuttle design, where riders will be taken through the course both frontwards as well as backwards. Being what they call a junior boomerang design, the coaster will most likely not feature any inversions due to it being a children's ride. It is said that the entire family will be able to enjoy this new ride as it will accommodate all types of riders from children going on their first roller coaster to coaster enthusiasts looking to experience a design that is a little unique, especially that is suitable for children to ride.
Drayton Manor will become even more family friendly with the addition of the new attraction and will continue working their way up on the coaster count in the park, bringing the park's total to five roller coasters with the addition. The current operating roller coasters at the park include Buffalo Mountain Coaster, G-Force, Shockwave, and Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster. This junior boomerang should be a great addition and fit in well with the park's current coaster collection.By: Rob Taylor
