Disney’s California Adventure to get a 20’s theme.

To many, Disney has been an iconic place throughout their lives, starting when they were very little. Though many fans of the franchise are relatively new and did not see its creation, there is still a fan base from the era of Disney’s creation. In the next couple years, Disney’s California Adventure will be appeasing to their generation; bringing the scenery that Walt Disney first saw when he arrived in California. Key to this expansion will be a new revamped entrance, with a retro look to it that is supposed to remind older fans of the early days of the park. Along with the new entrance, Disney will be changing the storefront up in the front of the park. The front of the park will change from its current look to one of the 1920’s in Los Angeles, as a tribute to Disney’s start in California.

The heart of this project will take place in August of 2011, when construction crews will be closing down the shops in the area to retheme them. While this change is taking place, visitors will be routed through a temporary entrance/exit located behind Soarin’ Over California. The path is projected to stay as the entrance/exit until work in the area is done, which could be as late as Spring of 2012.

The long construction that has been taking place at Disney’s California Adventure has been troublesome for many, including event planners. However, most major attractions will remain open during the entire length of the project, allowing visitors to enjoy Disney to its full.

The project is projected to take a grueling 16 months to finish, but if all goes to plan, the front of the park will transform into a retro throwback of the roaring twenties.
