© Six Flags Fiesta TexasSix Flags has announced that their Fiesta Texas park, based in San Antonio, Texas, will be getting a SkyScreamer of their very own for the 2012 season. Along with the high-flying SkyScreamer swing ride, sure to have thrill seekers on the edge of their seats, the park is also announcing an updated lineup of shows for next season.
The SkyScreamer, a Funtime StarFlyer, is a similar attraction to the series of WindSeekers that have been opening up and announced for numerous Cedar Fair parks over the past year. The SkyScreamer at Six Flags Fiesta Texas will stand 20 stories (200 feet) tall, swinging guests around in a 98-foot diameter circle at speeds of up to 40 mph. The ride is so tall, it will actually eclipse the height of the quarry walls that line the back of the park, which will provide guests on board with spectacular views of the park, quarry, and landscaping beyond.
Six Flags currently has two of these attractions already in operation at Six Flags St. Louis and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. While the model in St. Louis stands taller, at 236 feet, the one coming to Fiesta Texas will be the second tallest in the Six Flags fleet at 200 feet tall. Six Flags Great Adventure will also be receiving a slightly smaller SkyScreamer of its own in 2012, which will stand 150 feet tall. This should help fill out Fiesta Texas’ selection of rides and balance out the parks lineup of coasters.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas, long known for its fantastic lineup of shows, has announced several show changes for next season. According to the Six Flags video release, in which they revealed all the attractions going to the various Six Flags parks, it was mentioned that Fiesta Texas would also be getting “an exciting new live production.” No other details on the new show have yet been released, but with Fiesta Texas’ history of fantastic shows, it’s sure to be a great success.
