Canada Creek Railway to Make Final Run
Park Appears to now be Targeting a Specific Demographic Which Does Not Include Families with Young Children

Chertsey, Surrey - Thorpe Park has confirmed that the Canada Creek Railway is to make one last trip at the end of this season after 22 years of operation. Thorpe Park has not yet announced why the ride will be dismantled.
The ride has been a great alternative to walking to Thorpe Farm back in the day, but, in recent years, it gave awesome, picturesque views of Saw: the Ride and Logger’s Leap. Children were invited to try and spot bears in the ride through the woods.
Thorpe Park has been a great place to enjoy plenty of thrilling and gentle rides. The park has six coasters, with another to be added in 2012. They include Colossus, an Intamin record-breaking 10 inversion coaster; Nemesis Inferno, a nicely themed B&M Inverted Coaster; Saw: the Ride, a Gerstlaur Eurofighter that is themed to the popular horror movie series, and Stealth, an Intamin rocket coaster.
In 2012, Thorpe Park has started the vertical construction phase for Swarm, which will be the second or third B&M Wing Coaster (depending on whether or not Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee will open Wild Eagle before Swarm). The ride is 127’ tall and features 5 inversions. The theming depicts the ride taking place in an apocalyptic time. The ride also features an underground station.
Two other Wing Coasters are going to open next year: Wild Eagle at Dollywood and X-Flight at Six Flags Great America. Already, Wild Eagle has gained much more favor than the other two rides because of its unique layout and interaction with the terrain. X-Flight will be taking the place of the departed Iron Wolf at Six Flags Great America and will feature a more compact layout with more interaction with its surroundings.
Theme Park Tourist depicts the Canada Creek Railway as one of the park’s few remaining children’s rides. It used to journey through the woods and past some of Thorpe Park’s other attractions. But now the 2009 addition of Saw: the Ride makes for a very “unusual” backdrop for the ride.
