Rumors are flying at Islands of Adventure regarding the Poseidon’s Fury: Escape from the Lost City attraction. The future of this walk-through special effects show appears to be uncertain as current rumors are saying that the attraction will be closing in the near future.

Poseidon's Fury opened in 1999 in the Lost Continent section of Islands of Adventure. The attraction contains several technologically advanced moments involving fire, water, and sound as a "tour guide" acts as a narrator and performer for your journey.

The leading force that is causing the stirring of these rumors is the success of the nearby Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It has been recently announced that the Harry Potter section of the park would be "significantly expanding". Sitting right next door, Poseidon's Fury is a prime candidate to be removed to make more space.

Another factor that increases the likelihood of Poseidon's Fury to be removed is that most of the Lost Continent section of the park was absorbed by the Wizarding World when it opened. Besides Poseidon's Fury, the only attraction left in the Lost Continent is the popular Mythos Restaurant.

According to Theme Park Tourist, the latest rumors have Poseidon's Fury closing as early as February. Universal has made no comments, or even hinted at its removal as of now. However, with the rumors surrounding the removal of Universal Studio's Jaws attraction proving to be true it may be a good idea for fans of Poseidon's Fury to head on over to the Lost Continent and enjoy what could potentially be their last journey through the ruins.
