The new logo for Test Track.UPDATE- On Friday Disney revealed some new concept art for the refurbishment as well as confirmed some of the details we reported on earlier.
The Interactive queue will feature touch screen stations where guests will design their cars based on four aspects: capability, efficiency, responsiveness, and power. The selections you make will be saved onto an RFID card you are given. You will carry that card on the ride and into the post show. In the post show you will be given a score on how your vehicle did.

The ride track will remain the same. However all of the show scenes will be new. In the new ride you will be placed "inside the test computer". (The new artwork looks very Tron inspired)
Expect Disney to reveal more about the new Test Track experience as we get closer to the Fall 2012 opening date.
ORIGINAL ARTICLE-Last week EPCOT's Test Track closed its doors for the summer. While the attraction is closed it will be undergoing a renovation before reopening to the public at some point during the Fall of 2012.
Also be sure to check out our Interview from IAAPA with a senior engineer from Dynamic Structures, a company that played an important role in the creation of Test Track!
All of the details of the renovation have not been released, but fortunately our very own Zachary Fakterowitz was able to get some valuable information regarding the changes coming to the ride.
Many elements of the ride's theme are going to be overhauled. The ride is currently sponsored by General Motors and focuses on the testing of vehicles. After the renovation the ride will be sponsored by Chevrolet and will instead focus on the design process of the vehicles on the road both today and in the future. The attraction will essentially allow the guests to become car designers as they design concept vehicles before taking them out on the track.

Concept art gives a hint of what is to come.
A new post-ride show will be added as well that allows guests to evaluate the concept car that they just designed. Additionally guests will be able to check out examples of concept cars that Chevrolet is currently developing.
Not everything about the ride will be changing though. Zachary reported that the ride layout is likely to stay exactly the same. This is becuase the ride is so complex that an overhaul of the layout would take longer than just one summer.
No exact date has been announced for the reopening of the "new" Test Track Presented by Chevrolet.
