A step back to view the past

May 29, 2012 - Tyler Carlton

Edinburgh, Scotland - Scotland isn't exactly known for being a land filled with theme parks, but that is not stopping developers from putting together plans for a new one. Plans for the Spirit of Scotland Centre have begun to surface.

According to Players Brief and Herald Scotland the new theme park will cover an area of around 30 acres and will be contained in a dome. The park will focus around using technology such as 3D holographic projections, animatronics, multiple screens and, revolving stages to allow guests to step back into the past. Project developers have called the attraction a "time-traveler experience.

The main attraction will be a big glass geodesic dome. Surrounding this dome will be six pavilions that will be built to contain different themes specific to Scotland. Among these themes will be inventions, language, music, and other historical events according to Players Brief. Herald Scotland is reporting that 0ne of the pavilions will contain the scene of the beheading of Mary Queen of Scots and the 1567 murder of her second husband, Lord Darnley.

As you may have guessed, there is a bit of a horror aspect in this attraction. The funding for the park is being organized by Robin Hardy. He is most famous for directing the cult horror film The Wicker Man.
