Snow White's Scary Adventure closes
One of Magic Kingdom's original attractions has shut its doors. Snow White's Scary Adventures, a classic dark ride at the park, has closed after operating for since 1971. The ride's final day of operation was on May 31.
According to Theme Park Tourist the ride's space in the park will not be filled by a new ride, instead it will be replaced by Princess Fairytale Hall. This will be an area for children to have meet-and-greets with their favorite Disney princesses. It will serve as an extension of the upcoming Fantasyland expansion.
Snow White isn't leaving Magic Kingdom forever though. She will be coming back with a bang when Disney's newest coaster, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, opens at the end of the Fantasyland expansion. More information about this innovative and highly themed coaster can be found in a previous article HERE.
Snow White's Scary Adventures debuted along side Magic Kingdom in 1971. According to Theme Park Tourist the original ride drew critiques for being too intense and scary for young children, due to the rather dark theme of Snow White. Disney responded to these calls in 1994 as the ride underwent a renovation that removed a lot of the more scary parts of the ride and redo others.
Orlando Attractions Magazine and Theme Park Tourist have provided the following video of the attraction on its final day of operation.
