Detroit, MI - In recent years the city of Detroit has transformed from the mighty Motor City to a city that carries somewhat of a stigma. You could even go as far to say that the city has even somewhat "died". A local Clawson, Michigan (part of the Detroit metropolitan area) has a plan that would take parts of the dying city and bring them new life, and not in just the cliche form.

Marc Siwak has an idea that he thinks would help some of the problems that Detroit is having with vacant land. His idea would be named Z World Detroit and it would serve as a type of zombie apocalypse style theme park. Siwak is currently attempting to raise $145,000 to make this happen according to the Detroit Free Press.

The park would be located in near-east side of Detroit. A majority of the land in this area is owned by the city. In order to obtain sufficient land Siwak would need to make the purchase or lease from the city. This could prove to be one of the biggest hurdles of the project.

The main attraction would be a game somewhat like paintball or flag football. The park would have actors portraying zombies and the goal of the guests would be to eliminate these zombies before its too late. In essence it would be similar to the Zombies game mode of the Call of Duty series of video games.

In an interview with the Detroit Free Press, Siwak said, "I think we have a great opportunity to do something unique. Can't we do something more creative than just walking away from chunks of the city?"

However, the city is having none of it. Mayoral spokeswoman Naomi Patton told the Detroit Free Press that Detroit's Planning and Development Department would not consider the park to be a suitable use of the city's land.
