New safari attraction for 2013 season.
Guests of England's Chessington World of Adventures will have the opportunity to take a little step into Africa beginning in the 2013 season. The park has announced that it will be adding Zufari, a safari adventure style attraction.
According to Airgates the ride will feature open air safari vehicles that take guests on a journey across a recreated African landscape. The ride will be somewhat similar to the very popular Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom.
According to the Chessington World of Adventure website, the new attraction will open to the public in March of 2013. Airgates is reporting that this date will come after the debut of the new Africa section of the park that will also house a Madagascar stage show.
The park's also released the following quote on their website regarding the ride experience, "Jump aboard the ultimate off-roader truck for a thrilling safari journey where you’ll navigate through the extreme terrain of the African outback and come face to face with our new giant giraffes, powerful rhinos and other new animals waiting to be discovered."
Chessington World of Adventures is currently home to four operating coasters. Their most recent coaster came in 2004 with the addition of Dragon's Fury, a Maurer Söhne spinning coaster.
