Stratosphere Tower, Las Vegas, NV, USA -

Plans have come to the surface for a fourth ride that the Stratosphere Tower is planning to place atop the near-1,100-foot observation deck of the building.

The new yet-unnamed flat ride, which would open in 2005 if approved, would rotate riders around beyond the edge of the 866-foot observation deck in a circular motion over Las Vegas.

Passengers would board the new ride, attached to a curved arm, in five groups of two on swing-like seat setups before the arm rotates a quarter turn to take the ride out over the edge of the Stratosphere and rotate the passengers in circles.

The Stratosphere Tower opened in 1996 with the Big Shot launched freefall tower and High Roller circular kiddie coaster, and added X-Scream late last year. The possible new ride would come as a result of the success that X-Scream has seen since opening.
