Bessemer, AL - VisionLand Park, which opened in May of 1998 but closed in 2001 due to financial problems, may have a potential buyer willing to operate the park.

The Busch Entertainment Corp., which runs seven theme parks and two seperate water parks around the United States including Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, and Wild Adventures Co. which operates the Wild Adventures park of Valdosta, Georgia.

While the park remains closed this year, waiting for a decision to be made as far as ownership goes, VisionLand's adjacent waterpark was able to operate this year due to funding from the city as well as the park filing for bankruptcy protection this June.

VisionLand is currently up for sale for a reported $25,000,000 and Bessemer city officials hope to have a deal in place by the end of next month if all goes well.
