Six Flags over Texas is Six Flags Inc.'s original theme park, built in 1961.
On Sunday, March 12, seven riders were injured at Six Flags over Texas on the Texas Tornado when it malfunctioned.

The Texas Tornado, a swing / whirligig ride was operating when the ride came to an unexpected disturbance during the ride's cycle. The operator of the ride had stopped it, and when the ride was lowering for the passengers to exit, some of the riders' swings hit each other.

Since these were only minor injuries, the guests who were on the ride were simply sent to Six Flags Over Texas' First Aid center. One rider, a woman, complained of some back pain due to the accident, and was sent to the hospital.

The Texas Tornado is now closed for inspections by Six Flags over Texas engineers. The 23-year-old ride has a clean safety history prior to this incident. The accident seems to have been caused by the ride operator who was not cautious when stopping the ride for the passengers to get off.
