Six Flags New Orleans, which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina, will not open its doors to the public for the 2006 park season.Last summer, the New Orleans area was devastated by Hurricane Katrina, where Six Flags New Orleans dwells. The park was completely deluged as most of it laid helplessly underwater. As result, most of the park's main attractions were damaged due to this massive storm. On Wednesday, Six Flags announced that Six Flags New Orleans will not be opening for the 2006 park season. Six Flags wants to open the park once all damage has been lifted, and make sure all the rides are safe.On the other hand, the park will not close its doors to the public permanently as it is expected to reopen in 2007 or later.
